Her legacy
The Nicole Allen Memorial Foundation

The Nicole Allen Memorial Foundation was established on April 21st, 2007. Nicole had spoke of flowers being beautiful but they don't last and she'd like to see that money go to something special.  In talking with her friends, co-workers, classmates, and family the obvious place to start would be towards a PHOTOGRAPHY SCHOLARSHIP at the University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL).  This foundation is currently working on its' 501C3 status with the IRS to become tax exempt and getting our listing as a charitiable organization in the State Of Missouri.

Update 07/30/09: The Foundation has been approved by the IRS for 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. We can now hold fundraisers for the foundation and are planning three events: A Trivia Night to held this fall, a MONOPOLY game tournament to held early in 2010, and the Sports Memorabilia Auction/Dinner to held in the spring of 2010. As soon as we have dates & locations finalized we will post it. If you would like to help out with any of these fundraisers by volunteering or with contacts for corporate donations, please contact Denise or Brian. 314-432-0624 or nicoleallenmf@yahoo.com

CRAZY BOWL

The Florissant Valley Jaycees hosted a "Crazy Bowl," on April 20th, 2008 in rememberance of Nicole, her love of bowling with friends, and of course, "GOOD TIMES!!"  The event was successful in raising money for the Nicole Allen Memorial Foundation; brought together some of Nicole's friends, relatives, and Jaycees; we bowled, had attendance prizes, 50/50, raffle prizes, and some silent auction items.

Thanks to all who attended, made donations of items, and those who organized the event.  If you are interested in being involved in this event next year you can e-mail us at buchalle@charter.net  .

The Florissant Valley Jaycees have talked about making this an Annual Event if there is enough interest.

Pointfest Tribute

Nicole had gone to Pointfest the past four years and had tickets to attend the May 12th event.  Larry Lane contacted 105.7 the Point regarding Pointfest to tell them of Nicole's story.  Everything was arranged by Larry & Pointfest.  They made sure Denise & I could attend along with a number of Nicole's friends.  When everything moved to the main stage they asked for the crowds attention.  They recognized that one of their fans who attended was not in attendance that day, Nicole's picture appeared on the screens at Riverport.

The concert that day was dedicated to Nicole.  And those who attended were told when they are out having drinks to think of Nicole before they get behind the wheel of a car, instead call someone or ride with someone else.  They had a moment of silence which was well respected by the large crowd.

You can download the Nicole's Pointfest tribute video here:

The file is around 46mb, so it might take awhile to download.

Red Robin Memorial

On Nicole's 20th Birthday we were gathering with the Buchholz side of the family going out to eat to celebrate.  We went to Red Robin where we had a wonderful experience.  Several months later Nicole started working at Red Robin.  Nicole came home on April 20th, 2007 from work excited about having just passed her bartending test.  At the Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home all aspects of Nicole's life were well represented including Red Robin.

Red Robin contacted us asking if we would mind if they put together a garden in her memory.  When you go to the Red Robin on Manchester just west of highway 270, on the right hand side of the entrance they've established their Nicole Allen Memorial Site.  It's a true tribute to Nicole as their co-worker, team-mate, and friend.

Our family thanks the Red Robin Family for keeping her legacy alive.  We will continue to come in to eat and visit the memorial at Red Robin.  Nicole made friends into part of her family and we're proud of the tribute of our Red Robin Family.

Pictures will be added to the photo album of the Red Robin Nicole Allen Memorial Garden.
